NO HUNTING SIGNS—Is a person allowed to hunt on land leased by a gun club? The club has posted notices telling people not to trespass. Are we allowed to hunt on pasture lands where there are notices saying, “No shooting allowed?” This is in Idaho.
I am inclined to think that if the gun club has actually leased the shooting privileges the members have also a right to protect themselves in this by posting trespass notices. Of course a trespass notice must be respected if those who place them there had any right to do so. It would be the same way in regard to pasture land, if the parties who posted the notices own the land, but if it is public land, I don’t think anybody could prevent shooting there.
