The No. 91 and 91 1/2 Newhouse traps are about the best all-around traps, but when setting them for mink or any animal that the trap has to be covered over well, great care must be taken so that they will not clog. It is best to cover them with fine material, because any little stick that catches between the jaws, if it is very far down on either side, it will leave quite an opening at the top because the jaws extend upward so far. I have lost several mink by not covering them well, and they would clog and the mink would pull his foot out. They are fine in a water set.
