Muskrat-Driving Into Net-Is there any way to catch muskrats alive by driving them from their dens into a cage or net? Many of the dens are above water in summer and I want to catch some of the muskrats for breeding purposes.

I have never tried catching muskrats in this way but I have heard of it. While in central New York I heard of the Oneida Indians catching them by driving them out of their dens into a wire net. It requires two persons, one to hold the net and one to frighten the rats from the den by stamping on the bank.
