Muskrat at Slide and Den-With what shall I bait for muskrats at slides or at holes?
No bait is needed at such places. If the trap is properly placed in the entrance of the den, the muskrat will get caught when he comes out or enters. It is the same when the trap is set at the foot fo a slide, the animal will put his foot in the trap when he attempts to climb up the slide from the water. Bait need only be used where there are no good signs to set at, and in such cases, sweet apple is perhaps the best bait, but there are other good ones.
