MOTOR—PORTABLE—Would like to have your opinion on port able as motors as to efficiency and practicability for use on row boats. What horse power would you advise on a sixteen-foot row-boat which is pretty heavily built, so I could make six or seven miles per hour on a lake. What would the cost be?
You will find the portable motor a good idea, and a great saving in labor, They have proved excellent in service, within limits, of course. I don’t think you could get seven or eight miles speed unless you had a large size motor. The cost will run about $80.00, but you should go to the dealers for this kind of information. They may be able to fit you up cheaper than this.
