MOST POWERFUL—Which is the most powerful rifle—the .25-35, the .30-30, or the .32 Special? Is either of these good for hunting deer, cougars and hears in Pacific Co., Wash.?

At short range the .32 Special has the greater power, with the .30-30 close behind and the .25-35 last. At longer range the .30-30 holds out best, and is the one I would recommend if you choose one of these three calibers. It has sufficient power for any game found in your state, unless very long range shots are common, in which ease it would be better to choose one of the more powerful small bores, such as the .30 Army, .30 U. S. Govt. Rimless, .25 or .303 British. The first and second of these are the most accurate, and arc preferable.
