MOST POWERFUL—Please tell me which of the following rifles are the most powerful an which has the longest range, the .25-35, the .30-30 or the .303 Savage.

The difference is in favor of the .303. It and the .30-30 are practically the same as regards velocity, trajectory and penetration, but the 803 develops the greater energy and therefore is more powerful. It is a better killer than the .30-30 but the difference is not great. The .25-35 has practically the same penetration as the .30-30 but less energy, therefore it is less powerful. All of them will kill game farther than the average man can shoot, with open sights, hut because of their heavier bullets the .30-30 and the .303 arc probably longer range than the .25-35. All through the .303 is the better cart ridge for big game with the .30-30 a close second.
