MOUNTING PHEASANTS AND DUCKS—I would like to know which are principal measurements to take when mounting pheasants and ducks.
I do not know that there are any special points to measure, the bird should be skinned carefully by splitting the skin on the breast, lengthwise, and a body should be made of excelsior wound with tow. It should be made of the same size and shape as the real body. Pass stiff wires through for the legs, wings and neck and wind them with tow. The lower leg and wing bones are cleaned and left in.
