MOOSE RIFLE—Is the 351 Winchester heavy enough for regular hunting of moose and similar large game? Which is the most powerful automatic rifle made?

I would not like to advise the use of the .351 for such large game. Under favorable conditions it will do the work, but there are times when one might find it too light, The most powerful automatic gun made is the new Winchester Self Loader, Model 1910, caliber .401. It is a more powerful cartridge than the U. S. Army. While the cartridge is much shorter the caliber is greater, being a 40 and it should be powerful enough for any game found in America. It is made with both the 200 grain and 250 grain bullet. No doubt the 200 grain bullet will prove the most popular for general hunting. Its velocity and U. S. is as follows: Velocity of .401 caliber 2142 feet. energy as compared with the .30 of .30 U. S. 2000 feet. Energy at muzzle of .401 caliber 2038 foot pounds, of .30 U. S. 1964 foot pounds. The arm has a detachable magazine and the action is on the same principle as the other self-loading rifles but is more simple and strong.
