Mink-Daylight Traveling-I would like to know whether mink ever come out of their dens in daylight. I was along the river the other day and saw something that appeared to be a mink, but I am not sure, as I am not satisfied that they come out in the daytime. I was within six feet of the animal and I do not think a mink would be so bold.
I think the animal you saw may have been a large weasel, but mink do come out and travel in daytime, for I have seen a number of them traveling. I have even caught mink in daylight in traps. Mink are sometimes incredibly bold and have been known to come into camp when the occupant was in the room, and try to carry out some freshly killed game. On several occasion I have heard of mink stealing fish close beside the fisherman, and this was in daylight, too.
