Mink Scent-Best-What is the best scent for mink and how is it obtained?

The best mink scent I have ever used and the only one which has proved satisfactory, was made by placing the generative organs of a female mink caught in early March, in about 1 ounce of fish oil and to this I added the scent glands of a number of mink, both male and female. I split the glands open so that the contents would mix bait by setting the trap in the end of a hollow log near the edge of the water and covering the rotten wood found in the log, the sent being placed farther back in the log. This was used in Pennsylvania and Ontario. I do not know how it would be in Ohio.
