Growing up in the piedmont of NC I was an avid small game hunter, because then we had very little large game. While walking the fields and woods searching for game sometimes I would walk up a rabbit which usually ended up with it running away without me getting a shot. Then one day someone told me the next time this happened try stomping my foot on the ground. Well the next time I scared up a rabbit I tried this and the rabbit stopped dead in its tracks giving me just enough time to squeeze off a shot with my old single shot 22.
