LYNX SNARE—How large should a snare be to catch lynx, and how high from the ground?
The noose should be nine inches in diameter and the bottom of the snare should be ten or twelve inches above the trail. I have seen them set much higher, but I think this height is best, as I have caught several in fox snares set even lower, and with nothing to guide them into the noose.
