Lubing Bullets the Old Way | |
|
I have been using tallow to grease the lead bullets I reload and find it is a little too hard for winter use. What should be mixed with it to get the right temper?
I generally mix a little gun grease, the kind that comes in small tubes, putting in more in cold than warm weather. A little experimenting will enable you to get the proper consistency. If, however, you expect to reload any quantity of shells you should by all means get an "Ideal" lubricator and sizer. The two most difficult operations in reloading are sizing and greasing the bullets and this little machine does them both with ease and will save enough time, trouble and tallow in a very short period to pay for itself.
