Yes, Uncle Sam’s warship gunners shoot targets to pieces by means of telescope sights on large rifles — cannons. They shoot very fast, too, on ranges of many miles. But in small arm practice telescopes are used mostly on rifle ranges. Game - shooting at a mile range is practically unheard of, but at long ranges —in open country — a telescope is sometimes very useful; also, in shooting wild geese and wild turkeys (and in turkey shoots), the telescope is valuable. But for shooting game on the jump, at any range, if that is what you have in mind, the telescope would bother most riflemen.
