When hunting in the rain or snow always cover the muzzle of your rifle with scotch tape (cellophane tape). This will keep water, snow, ice mud...etc. etc. out of your firearm and will not effect the shot placement or muzzle pressures. When your hunting hard and diving into brush, under a rung of barbed wire or just slipping on a slick path things happen.
