LIKES THE TWENTY-TWO RIFLE
I am a new reader of "Fur News" and like it very much, so I thought I would write and tell about my guns and hunting and trapping. I have a 12-gauge shotgun and a small .22 rifle. I use the rifle on skunks and opossums and target use. We have quite some rabbits and quail. I have a dog who will hunt rabbits and quail. Whenever I want him to hunt he can trail a quail to the spot in a very short time, and will keep after a rabbit until I shoot him if I want him to.
For fur-bearers we have skunks, opossums, weasels, foxes and a very few mink. Muskrats are plentiful, but on my trapping grounds there are none at all. 'Coons are very scarce.
My traps are mostly the tree traps and the Stop Thief, which are the most humane, and when I catch a skunk in these traps he will be dead in a short time and there will be no trouble with his odor and no escaping by gnawing their feet off.
Come on, hunters and trappers, let's hear of your experiences with the Stop Thief and tree traps.
