LEVER ACTION 10 GAUGE FOR FOX—Will someone who has used the Winchester lever action lo gauge repeating shotgun tell how far it would kill a fox, also if the Marlin 12 gauge repeating shot gun it a good one for fox hunting?
The 10 gauge Winchester Repeater is one of the longest range shotguns on the market. If properly loaded it will do good work on foxes at 60 yards, but will occasionally kill at longer ranges. Kills at more than 69 yards, however, may be considered out of the ordinary, and no shotgun could he depended on at greater ranges. The work done by any gun will depend much on the brand and charge of powder used, the size and amount of shot, etc. The Marlin 12 gauge is also a good gun, but for such use would probably not be as satisfactory as the 10 gauge gun.
