Lady Fish
Lady-Fish (Bone-Fish, Grubber, etc.): Caught on medium Striped Bass tackle with crab, worm, and small-fish bait in the West Indies, in the Gulf of Mexico, on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of North and South America, and uncommonly along the Atlantic shores as far north as Cape Cod. Is also found about the Bermudas and Cape Verde Islands, in the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea, and on the coast of Japan. On the coast of California it is taken with the Mullet in San Diego Bay. Is a slender, silvery fish that leaps from the water when hooked and fights like the fresh-water Black Bass. Averages two to three pounds in weight.
