I was in the army for the years as a light infantry soldier with 2-12. We were always playing with our knives and I noticed my edge would dull quickly. I would use a $150 dollar electronic knife sharpener. but what i found out is the best way to get a sharp edge that lasts is to get a good sharpening stone, become familiar with it and get to work. When you’re watching TV just get the stone out and sharpen your knife every night for 30 minutes or so while watching TV. After about a week you are going to have a sharp edge but the thing is that the edge will last. i sharpened my knife this way and after 3 months it is still as sharp as ever. Don’t be cheap when you go to get a stone!
