JUST A LOUD MOUTHED HOUND | |
|
DAWG BELLER
I am chained here in the office,
And the tang is in the air.
But my mind is free and wanders,
To the woods, and nights so rare.
And in fancy, I am calling
Loud mouthed coon dogs bawling.
As they wander, on the trail,
Of Mr. Possum or Ringtail.
Through the cornfields,
O'er hills and hollows,
How they tongue, now loud, now mellow,
As we race along and stumble.
As in vain we try to follow.
I'm just itching, for to hear 'em,
As they say come here and get 'em.
Oh! the music of their voices.
Just a loud mouthed hound dog yelper.
We arrive and see them a-rarin',
Up that tree, for Mr. Coon.
