The Invention of the Sling-shot
The sling-shot is a greatly modified form of the sling of ancient days. It is an invention of recent date, for the process of vulcanizing rubber was not known until 1842, when it was discovered by Charles Goodyear, and hence the sling-shot must have followed at even a later date.
