Idaho – Climate, Game Etc. – What kind of climate has Idaho?
A great diversity but generally speaking, it is good. In Bonner Country (north country of state) there is considerable snow with few days that it does not thaw some during the middle of the day. In fall and spring plenty of rain, which falls easy and straight down, but no dashing rains and little thunder and lightning. The game consists of deer, bears, elk, caribou, sheep and goats, several kinds of grouse and rabbits. Of course these are not all found in the same neighborhood, but within fifteen or twenty miles of the settlements one can find any of them. Some mink, marten, cougar, lynx, coyotes, bobcats, muskrats, weasels, skunks and beaver, the latter protected.
