Hunters can be Good Samaritans also
We were out hunting coyotes (well at least trying to) one morning and saw a black lump moving at the base of a small hill about 500 hundred yards away. There had been rumors of black bear in the area recently and we thought it might be a cub stuck in a trap set out by a home owner that was worried about the recent black bear sightings. So of coarse our curiosity got the best of us and we set out to get closer, but from a safer direction. We found the small hill, we found the small black lump that was moving, yet to our dismay it was not the bear cub we were hoping for. It was actually a really fuzzy black dog that was deaf, blind and lost out in the snow. Come the find out after locating the owners that the dog had ventured about 2 miles from his warm and cozy bed in Peyton, Co. Even though we were going out to kill what is considered a varmint here in Co., we ended up only saving a life. What are the odds?
