One of the best wind indicators is a small (35mm film) canister full of slightly diluted washing up liquid. A small piece of wire shaped as a dipper will enable you to blow bubbles which will float on the breeze. Great fun when sitting up a high seat, be careful no one is watching - or the men in white coats may appear instead of deer!
