HOMEMADE WEED GUARDS
B y J. LOUD
Broken pieces of mainspring, which can be obtained from any watch repairer, make excellent material for constructing weed guards. A turn or two of fine wire and a drop of solder fasten the guard to the hook shank and it may be bent to any shape desired. I have found the shape shown in the diagram to be a most effective one.
