People say that you REALLY NEED a knife with a gut hook.

Actually, you don't.

It's just fine using a fixed blade.

Here is my method for making a gut hook out of a fixed blade knife.

Take a old knife and sheath, and make empty space for the knife in the sheath. Make then a hole so you can put a inch or two outside the sheath.

When you need a gut hook, just put your knife down in that hole in the sheath and you got a gut hook
