High Base vs. Low Base Shot Shells | |

High Base vs. Low Base Shot Shells—Do high tin shells have stronger powder in them than the short tin shells? If so, could I use them in a single barrel Remington hammerless shot gun without danger of bursting the barrel?
I presume that you refer to shells having a high metal base. Such shells are loaded with various grades of smokeless powder, some of which are very powerful, but the manufacturers keep the powder charge reduced to a small bulk so that they have all got approximately the same strength. All factory loaded shells are perfectly safe to use in your gun.
