HAWK TRAPPING—Can someone give a good method of trapping hawks, especially one that can be used in Kansas?
Select a place near a favorite setting tree or stretch of landscape over which hawks fly. For bait, use a whole rabbit and fasten it down by tying both ends of a short twine to the ends of short stakes, and drive one stake down out of sight on each side of the rabbit, so that the string crosses its body between the hips and the ribs, holding it securely. Set two No. 1 Victor traps, one on each side of the rabbit. Bed the traps down and cover them with dirt, and fasten them to stakes driven out of sight into the ground.
