HACK, or Hackney. The general term for a road-horse; by no means implying inferiority, or referring exclusively to horses let for hire. A gentleman rides his hack to covert, where his hunter is in waiting. A mau is in high good luck who introduces a real good hack into his stable; and, once there, no trifle should get him out again.
