GREASE SPOTS—How can grease spots be removed from buck skin?
To remove grease spots from buck skin, if in the form of gloves or mittens, take two quarts of warm water and any good hard soap, make a good suds and wash them well. If the spots will not come out use more soap and if the water gets dirty use clean water. Then rinse them in clear warm water, wring them well, and put them on, then wave them about and rub them to hasten the drying. Never use hot water as it will ruin any leather and never dry mittens or gloves near the stove or fire, but as far from it as you can conveniently dry them.
