GOLDEN SEAL—Give a description of golden seal?
Golden seal grows to about a foot in height and has a hairy, purplish stem, branching out at the top. There are only two branches and usually only two leaves, one on each branch. One leaf is larger than the other and they are both of irregular outline, deeply notched and with from three to nine lobes. The flower and fruit grow on the stem holding the smaller leaf. The fruit when ripe resembles a red raspberry. The plant has a thick yellow rootstock with a mass of small branching roots.
