Seeds are sold by the 1,000 at $2 to $5 per 1,000—this is stratified seed, ready to plant; roots are sold $5 per 100 one year old, $10 per 100 two years old, $15 per 100 three years old. This is the price I sell my seeds and roots, writes a reader of HTT. Most ginseng growers sell their seeds and roots at twice this price.

Ginseng should not be planted where water stands any length of time; however, a few days may not hurt it. It is a good plan to set out three-year roots as well as one and two years roots, as they stand transplanting better than one year.
