GINSENG—SOUTHEASTERN MINNESOTA—Can ginseng be grown successfully in south eastern Minnesota, and if so will it do well in shady woods? Can small ginseng plants, for transplanting, be grown successfully from the seed?
Yes, ginseng will do well in that part of the country. It will grow in the shady woods about the same as it does in the wild state, but the roots will grow two or three times as fast in a garden under artificial shade. Small plants for transplanting may be grown successfully from the seed.
