Furs-Keep over Summer-Will a coon or muskrat skin shed the fur if kept over the summer, when not tanned?
The skin will not shed the hair if perfectly dry and kept in a cool place. But moths and worms are likely to destroy them, anyway they get yellow and are not worth much when kept over the summer, unless kept in cold storage. I have on several occasions kept furs over until the next season, but never got good prices for them, and I advise selling them as soon as you get enough on hand.
