Fox-Kitts-What is meant by kit fox is it a young fox of the ordinary kind, or a distinct species?
The kit fox is a distinct species found only in the West, near the Rocky Mountains. It is much smaller than the red fox. It is yellowish gray, darkest on the back, the hairs tipped with white or very light gray, a black spot on each side of the muzzle, tail very bushy and tipped with white. The fur is not valuable.
