FOX GLOVE—Please let me know if fox glove (digitalis) is of any commercial value, and if so, what is it used for and how prepared?
The leaves of various species of Digitalis are used, especially those of the purple fox-glove, in heart diseases and disturbances of the circulation. The leaves are dried, and then chemical extracts are made, under systems, as the “French Extract,” the “German Extract,” etc. It is used both as a sedative and a diuretic.
