What Others Are Saying:

Fox Bait

Take a quart screw top jar; into which put the carcass of a muskrat finely cut up. Also the fat of a skunk and their scent bag and the entrails of three field mice. Screw the cover on, not too tight and then place the jar in a location where it will be warmed by the sun, leave for several weeks; then it is ready to use. I usually take a clean stick and smear part of this mixture on the grass or lay some or it between the grass and my trap. I assure the trappers that this is very good bait. I caught twenty-seven foxes last season.
