Fox-Skinning Tails-I have trouble in skinning the tails of foxes as the white tips comes off. The skin of the tip of the tail seems to be very thin, scarcely any at all. Can you tell me how to skin them so that this will not occur?
I have never had this trouble and do not know what causes it unless the animals are found dead and frozen and you thaw them out by the heat of the fire. In that case the tail is likely to get too much of the heat and the skin will break easily. I presume that the animals were trapped. If they were poisoned, that my account for it.
