FOR ROUGH COUNTRY—Which would be the best gun for deer in a rough country, a .22 caliber repeater using the .22 long rifle or a 12-gauge shotgun, using buck shot.
The shotgun is best but I would not use buckshot, although for such game as deer, heavy buckshot are better than a .22 caliber bullet. I would use a double shotgun with one barrel cylinder bored and would use round bullets. If sights are fitted on the rib it will do very good shooting and will kill all kinds of big game at reasonable ranges.
