FOOTWEAR—What is the best footwear for trapping in fall, winter, also in spring in slush and water.
For straight trapping, thick soled hunting boots or high shoes on bare-ground, pacs or moccasins on snow (with heavy woolen socks inside), when the snow is on the ground, and stay in camp in wet or slushy weather. If you must travel, laced overshoes are as good as anything, put on over several pairs of socks.
