Folding Boat-Do you consider folding boats safe and are they really of much service?

The following was furnished by a reader: Concerning a folding boat, would say that I don’t know of any boat that I could advise one to get that would serve better. I have used a 12 foot folding boat for about three years and find it is better than any boat I ever used. I used my boat on Buckeye Lake for two seasons and last fall I made a trip about 30 miles in it to our camp grounds. Besides myself I had about 250 pounds to carry. It is an ideal boat for fishing and rowing. In case you have to carry your outfit around a dam, it does not take a team of horses to take you around. You can easily carry the boat as it only weights about 30 pounds.
