Fly Rod, Length of-What is the best length of a fly rod for trout and bass; should the reel seat be above or below the hand for casting artificial flies? Which if the more durable, a steel or split bamboo rod? How would a steel bait-casting rod 6 ˝ feet long be for fly casting?

A fly rod should be very light and for general use about 9 feet long with the reel seat below the hand. The steel rod is the most durable but the short bait-casting rod is no good for fly casting.
