Flinching is the involuntary jerking of a firearm in anticipation of the shot. Flinching adversly affects shot to shot consistency and is detrimental to accuracy. An easy way to tell if you are flinching is to have a friend load your firearm, some times he will load a live round, then have him “fake” load the firearm, if you flinch it will become apparent, as flinching is often hidden by the anticipated recoil itself.
