A FLEXIBLE GAFF
By F. MALONE
The following kink may be of some value to the week-end fisherman who wishes to diminish the contents of his tackle box and go without a net or gaff:
Take a number of hooks of the stiff steel variety and heat the eyes until they can be bent with pliers. Then hook them into each other in tandem, turning one hook one way and the next the opposite. Then close the eyes until they will not come off over the barb. Two feet or more of this string of hooks makes a good landing tool when attached to “any old stick” with a small weight wired to the last hook. Let the size of the hooks be governed by the size of the fish to be caught.
