The last thing you need to decide really has to do with whether or not you butcher your own game animals or if you take it to someone else.
If you butcher your own animal you will want a knife that will allow you to easily remove the hide. If however you only field dress the animal and then take it to a professional butcher you are only concerned with a knife that can easily perform the task of field dressing. If the knife is a gift and you are unsure, we recommend going with a knife that can also be used to butcher the animal.
