Age to Train for Coon-What is the proper age at which to commence training a foxhound to hunt coons, when I have no old dog to train him with?

The earlier you can commence training after the dog is six months old, the better. Of course, you must conform with the game laws, and the laws of Ohio say you may not “kill or pursue with such intent” any coon before the first of November, but that does not prevent one from running coons to train a dog, when killing is not an object.
