Thick Neck-Can anybody tell me a remedy that will cure a thick neck on a dog nine months old?

I think that which you call thick neck is a goiter. There is no cure for this, but the swelling or growth may be reduced by painting with tincture of iodine once a day until the skin appears sore, then let it heal for a week, and repeat the treatment. You must use a feather or a small brush to apply the ointment- part the hair and paint it onto the skin. During this treatment give the dog a tablespoonful of cod-liver oil daily.

With a small brush paint your pointer pups, which have “goiter” on the throat with tincture of iodine three mornings in succession and it will surely disappear; if not, and surface should commence to blister, wait a few days then repeat as above given. Cause is-wet and damp quarters; keep them dry and warm.
