Sore Eyes-What can I do for a young hound that has sore eyes? They are always watery.
Bathe the eyes frequently with a solution of 20 grains boracic acid and 6 ounces of distilled water, or sulphate of zinc, 12 grains, laudanum, ¼ ounce, water, 6 ounces. If he has been this way long, it is likely that the trouble arises from a natural weakness of the eyes, in which case you could do nothing for it.
Pulverize a spoonful of granulated sugar, then roll a sheet of paper around a pencil to make a tube, fill the tube with sugar, and hold the dog’s eyes open and blow it in. It is better than any eye lotion.
