DISMAL SWAMP—Will some reader please tell me what animals are found in the Dismal Swamp of North Carolina and Virginia, would you advise me to go there to trap?

The furbearing animals are the black bear, coon, wildcat, otter muskrat and mink. There is good trapping in some parts, and bears, coons and muskrats are the principal furbearers. In parts of the swamp there is so much water that trapping would be difficult, but all through, it is a good place. Furs from there are not worth as much as the northern ones.
